How to Be More Organized (Using These 2 Helpful Steps)

Just think about it. Everything great exists because of organization and order. And I mean everything. Take a look at your phone or laptop. All of the parts inside it are organized in order.

Or think about how ants work together to build colonies. Think about how a coffee table is put together, or how a plane or any marvelous structure on the planet is assembled.

Better yet, think about how you are assembled; how organized your inner parts are and how everything operates in a purposeful order. I can keep going. Ecosystems, the circle of life, day cycles, gravity, our earth—it all works in order. Our entire solar system is organized.

Being more organized is a very real power, and you can trust it to increase success. You can trust it just as much as you trust your organized body to sort out the vitamins in your breakfast smoothie or how you trust our solar system to keep running cycles. If you start organizing more aspects of your life, you'll start experiencing more harmony and success in more areas.

So now you may be saying "Okay, I get it! Being organized is super important. Now how do I do it? What's the strategy?"

The strategy is very similar to what experienced psychologists use to help people overcome overwhelming goals. I call it The Breakdown Strategy. And the strategy is nothing new. It's actually very practical, and you probably do it every once in a while without even realizing it!

Here's The Breakdown Strategy:

1. First, pick out something that you want to work on organizing. It may be something at home (like a crazy pots-and-pans cabinet, a closet, or your garage). Or it may be something at work (like a desktop cluttered with saved files or a big stack of mail). Make sure you write down the goal, though.

2. Now break the goal down into bite-sized daily goals. Or you can start with breaking it down to something you only work on once a week. You can always add in more days later. Everyone's different, so find out what works for you! The whole idea is to break down one big goal into a series of mini-goals.

It may also help if you use some kind of schedule, so here's a free blank schedule and a fillable schedule if you want one. 😊

And bam! that's it! That's the strategy. Practical, huh?

What this strategy does is it helps shatter the feeling of being overwhelmed. It reduces guilt and lets you work on things in a pace that fits your lifestyle. Also, it allows you to actually get things done.

Vincent van Gogh, one of the most famous artist of all time, once said "Great things are done by a series of small things brought together."

You can do great things. And you don't have to keep struggling with disorganization.

Just keep working at it. Keep making tiny steps of progress. And when you get off track, don't beat yourself up. It's okay. Remember, you're growing. Because as long as you keep growing, you'll keep overcoming odds. 🤍
